The Powerhouse Arts District Neighborhood Association (PADNA) is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) established to promote the well-being and common good of residents in the Powerhouse Arts District and the surrounding downtown waterfront. We aim to foster communication among residents and the broader community, thereby enhancing the quality of life in Jersey City.
Since its founding in April 2006, PADNA has focused on the following goals:
Addressing quality-of-life issues in our developing neighborhood.
Encouraging vibrant community activities and increasing foot traffic in our area.
Building a supportive community network through discussions and events.
PADNA provides a platform for members to discuss, consider, and take action on local concerns, including issues in Downtown Jersey City, and, where relevant, in the entire city and county. We advocate for historically sensitive development in line with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. We also support the creation of a pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use, and vibrant neighborhood that emphasizes arts, entertainment, and culture.
