Powerhouse Arts District Neighborhood Association Responses from At-Large Candidate Joseph Cassidy I just want to thank the members of the PADNA organization for allowing me the opportunity to introduce myself and present some of my views re: PADNA and the upcoming election. Regarding the survey, I hope the following answers will meet with your satisfaction. General: I feel the PAD provides a much needed cultural identity to the City of Jersey City and I support the concept. Development: I was not aware of the amended PAD redevelopment plan; however, I will work with the incoming administration to maintain as much as possible the concept of the original PAD plan. Quality of LIfe: The city has an obligation to provide normal services equally throughout the city. I will ensure that city government provides these services. Open Space: Having been born and raised in the downtown area, I am amazed at how densely populated the area has become. I would use Green Acres funding and the County Open Space Fund to preserve open space areas such as the 6th street embankment. Traffic and Public Transportation: With the recent development of the downtown area, there has come a need for an extensive study to determine the best way of solving the traffic and public transportation problems. If the community supports a pedestrian and bike path to Liberty State Park, I would support its construction. |
