PAD Redevelopment Plan

PADNA supports the Powerhouse Arts District Redevelopment Plan. We believe that the following five points of the redevelopment plan stand out as the essence of the Plan. Development that follows these points will contribute to realizing the vision, developed by many people over more than a decade. The Powerhouse Arts District, a vibrant, arts neighborhood

•   Height & mass of new construction that supports the existing fabric of the PAD .
•   Adaptive reuse of existing warehouses.
•   10% affordable housing, for artists if possible.
•   1% construction costs dedicated to the arts .
•   Ground floor retail and other active uses.

New development that adheres to these points will contribute to a district that will be a true resource and amenity for the ENTIRE city of Jersey City.

Toll Brothers' Amendment to the PAD Plan
Toll's Plan guts the heart of the PAD by incorporating three wall-like towers, endangering two existing warehouses, reducing the number of live/work units, eliminating affordable housing for artists and reducing the amount of open space required by the PAD Plan.
